I used Duolingo learning different languages and it is really good because it pushes you to learn at least a little every single day. But, it shouldn't be your only learning resource so I'm sure my newsletter will help!
What I've learn in waiting to do thing is to change the "I want to" start waking up earlier to "I have to" start waking up earlier, because then it becomes something you HAVE TO DO.
In the past, that piece of word wasn't strong enough for me to get out of bed. But there are many different ways and you just need to find one that works for you right?
I am glad your resolutions are working out for you. I bet it feels good to stay on track with your new habits. My resolutions have not become a habit, but i hope to change it soon. I am looking forward to learning Korean. I tried before but gave up during the vowels. So i hope to pick up some determination and habit forming tricks.
I’m so excited! I use Memrise but actually learn more through you. The diary will be so fun!
I’ve successfully made a lot of changes this year too, but the only I can’t seem to do is go to bed earlier. How did you do it?? It’s 4am and I’m just now heading to bed ...
Hahaha! I ended up staying up until 5AM! I promised myself I’d do better today, but here it is almost 4:30am and I just laid down lol. What’s your secret?
Thank you for your inspirational email today! It was something I needed to read!! I very much enjoy all your reels and one day when possible, I would love to take lessons with you!!
Thank you for this new post! Your new routine sounds amazing. I have also always attempted to set new goals and maintain a healthy routine in my life. I would love to hear more of your backstory about your experience. I can highly recommend meditation. And definitely even 5-10 minutes a day can really help ground you and start your day with a clear and calm mind, which ultimately can make you more productive (and even sometimes happy!) all day. And working out at the gym.... of course makes you feel good. And reading and learning a different language... woo hoo.... You are going to be unstoppable in whatever you set your mind to, Mr. Buster Moon!
We need to strive to become better at what we do right? I would like to see what I'm capable of and pushing myself is the only way! Meditation is something I've been enjoying but I'm not good at it because I get sidetracked way too often haha but it's the progress that makes me satisfied.
선생님, this all sounds good! Writing will really help more with learning sentence structure and vocabulary building - which is what I’m needing! Also, if you have any book recommendations for beginners for reading practice, that would be great too. I’ve already bought a few bilingual children’s books to help me build my vocabulary!
Also, kudos to you for sticking with your plan. Consistency is hard for me (and that’s coming from someone that teaches people how to be consistent for a living 😂)
You need to be my personal coach!😂 I'm sure you can also provide some great tips! You can try and download this app called "Dooru library" and it has many different short stories. Although it doesn't give you the meanings of the vocab, it reads you the story and you can read along. I find it very useful for people who just want to practice reading and improve pronunciation!
I'm an owl too. Here it is after midnight and I'm here writing this post. My problem is that I'm also an early riser. Wake up at 5:30, overalls and sneakers (in winter also a jacket, hat, gloves and mask as a scarf) and walk. I started in 2021 with 4 km and now I'm at 10/12 km a day... every day Saturday and Sunday included. It's my special moment, just me, my step and my music, Korean of course... no kidding. I think you are going to find brnefits from this new life style and I'm sure you won't be able to do without it.
Non mollare e continua così.
Bella l'idea del diario! Nice idea that to write a diary to learn Korean! Simple sentences to explain grammar rules as fir example: particles, sentence construction, position of the syntagmas, tenses of the verbs and the various degrees of politeness in Korean language that are quite complex fir me.
Ti improve my English I experimented with the method of John Peter Sloan, a comedian and English teacher who, for example, invented funny symbols to memorize some sounds of the English language, difficult for a stranger. It could also be done with Korean because actually I think I'm not the only one getting confused between ㅈ ㅊ ㅉ or ㅍ ㅂ ㅃ.
I apologize for taking so long and I wish everyone a good day or a good night depending on where in the world you are.
I think if I can go to bed late and wake up early and be fine with it, I would totally do that because I can get more stuff done in a day!
I would like to make running in my morning routine but I need to take things one at a time because I think I already have quite a few in my list haha But you are a inspiring person! I can already tell even though we've never really talked before.
Thank you very much for engaging with what I do and I appreciate it very much. Grazie mille!
Good luck with everything you want to achieve. I am a night owl myself and i know exactely what you are talking about. It doesn't bother me that much though, as i know i cannot be productive in the mornings unless i am at work and i don't have any other choice. I am quite organized and can get stuff done when i want to, so i am happy like this for now. I bought your book, i started reading it and writing down stuff but i got stuck and stopped. I am learning by myself so it is really difficult. It is kind of a mess in my mind right now and i have to print the book to make my life easier. I am looking in other sources as well.
Everyone has their best way to live their life so I respect that! We will start learning soon and the best thing I found about this platform is that it's not one way. I send out an email and don't know what's going on on the other side. So we can walk through everything together and that's how this is going to be. Looking forward to seeing your progress with me!
Hi Andreea, I have the book too and I found for myself that printing it and then setting up my notes from the paper copy was much easier than doing it from my digital copy :)
Hello there! I don't know why i didn't think to print it sooner. I was really struggling with the QR codes as i don't have a computer, so i started to cut one by one from the book. After all that struggle, i deleted all of them by accident. Imagine!🤣🤣
This sounds good. Goals are really hard to stay on top of but having like minded individuals sharing in a class like this puts my mind more at ease to actually commit and progress. I really do like your set up on how you want your class to be like. I don't have a lot of stuff going on in my life but I am the type to put things off while doing other stuff. Being Korean and not knowing the language really sucks so I really do want to learn and hopefully be fluent. I had studied a little on my own, learning hangul plus words and phrases but I find it very difficult conjugating the verbs and all the other stuff of course. I am really happy to be apart of this and look forward to learning as much as possible.
Hey Lisa, you are Korean but born in the US maybe? Regardless, I'm sure you will benefit from this newsletter and we will reach our goal together! Fighting!
Buster I had a the plan also to go to sleep earlier. I actually set my alarm on my phone 30 minutes before lights out... During the 30 minutes I would dim all the lights around me and get ready for bed...Shut down my phone completely. Do a meditation then lights out ... And go to sleep. Well It hasn't worked.. I think because there is too big of a gap between when I was going to sleep and the new time I chose. So now I've decided to ease my way into the new time. For about a week I'll go to sleep 10 to 15 minutes early. Then keep increasing the time maybe by 5 minutes until I've reached the allotted time. There's a work out that I've seen and heard about, I can't remember the name of it. It goes something like this. It's a 10 minute workout or is it a 5 minute workout. 1. Do as many pushups as you can in 1 minute.... Do them fast. 2. Situps for 1 minute as many as you can. I'll see if I can find a video of it for you... This way you'll have a very good workout in less time ..
I like the idea of a diary. I would say a dialogue diary. Conversational back and forth. Starting like, Hi long time no see. What have you been doing these days? Include dates and time...cuz I'm not getting these very well in my studies. I'm not fluent.
선새님 문 I look forward to your lesson plan! I am using Duolingo to learn Korean and I thought that adding your lessons would help me out!!
Sincerely, Tracy from Texas

Being able to work up to writing a journal in Hangul is one of my goals so this sounds perfect! Thanks 😁
It's going to be a journey but we are in this together and we will get there!

Hi Andreea, I also bought the text and printed it. Although not eco friendly I needed to view the text in its entirety. 🙋🏼♀️
Hello! I think the printed version will make our life easier 😁
Good work on changing a pattern! I am trying to make a simple change and then add on to it.
Yeah one step at a time! I'll definitely share my experience and you can see if that's something you would like to try yourself!

Yay!!!! I'm excited! I actually was born in Korea but adopted at 6months and sent to America.
Yes I want to know how you made these changes!
I'll share my experience although it's only been a month but sharing it with you will also motivates me to keep up with it haha
Deal!
I found out about the type of workout I was trying to tell you about. It's called EMOM workouts. You can look it up.
