💡Here Is The Bic Picture of the Plan
Our goal is going to be writing a story together kind of like a... diary!
👋Hi there!
I hope you are having a good week! I’m extremely sorry that I didn’t send an email out to you last Sunday. I had too much stuff going on about this newsletter in my head and I had to clear my mind for a second there. But I promise that I’ll do my best to send out an email every Sunday.🙏🏻
Before we start talking about Korean, I would like to share something that’s happening in my life right now. So, I am a type of person who makes a decision to do something and then fails miserably after 3 days of trying. And recently I felt the need to make a change because I have an ever-increasing amount of work that needs to get done everyday.
And the change I wanted to make in particular was my day-to-day lifestyle.
At the end of last year, I used to stay up late maybe until 1 or 2 and have a good 8 hour sleep waking up at somewhere between 9 and 10 o’clock in morning. Maybe you have a similar routine like me because you are also a night owl and love to get things done at night. If this is you and if you are happy with this type of lifestyle, then it’s all good! Everyone has their own way to do things, right? But, I wasn’t happy with myself going to bed late at night and waking up also late in the morning. I wanted to change that and I was getting excited to go through a change because a new year was on its way. So, I set my new year’s resolution:
Going to bed by 11:30pm and waking up at 6:30am
Meditation for 10 minutes upon waking up
Spanish study time for about 20 minutes
Reading for 30 minutes
Going to the gym every other day
Making 3 reels and edit them
Quite a few things to get done in the morning, isn’t it? On the day I go to the gym, the duration of this morning routine can take up to more than 4 hours. And now, it’s been a month since I started challenging myself with this. What do you think has been the result so far? Even to my surprise, it has been working! Of course I cannot say I’m doing all of these tasks perfectly every single day but it’s been working enough for me to say that there has been a transformation in my recent life.
The important thing behind this new challenge is that I approached it differently than before because my previous attempts were all failures. Would you like to know how I was able to make this change? If so, I will write more on this topic soon. Also, do you have any tips for me that have been working for you when you tried building a new habit? I would appreciate it if you can share with the community.😊
Now, let’s talk about our Korean school!
🌩️Brainstorm
Like I mentioned last week, I thought about how we should organize and start learning Korean through the form of this newsletter. Well, first thing that came to my mind was that we should definitely set a clear goal. Without a goal, it’s going to be easy to lose focus which will lead us to the margin of the river instead of staying in the river. So, I started to think what would be the ideal goal? And I believe you would want to reach a level where you can talk about your daily lives like what you did yesterday and what you are going to do tomorrow among other things that include your observations, likes or dislikes, events, adventures and many more.
Wait… Did someone say “diary”?
Yes! I think if we could write a diary of our daily lives in Korean, I figured that’d be pretty cool. What do you think?
✍🏻Hangul and Its Vowels and Consonants?
Because I’m teaching you Korean through text, I plan on getting into the Korean grammar right away with an expectation that you know how to read Hangul aka Korean letters. If you don’t know how to read Korean, there are many great lesson videos on YouTube that you can watch or you can also buy my e-book “Korean 101: Read and Write Hangul in a Day” here.
Although I’m not going to teach you the letters and their corresponding sounds, I’ll tell you something interesting about them in the next post. I’ll see you again this Sunday. Have a great week!
다음에 또 봐!💙
선새님 문 I look forward to your lesson plan! I am using Duolingo to learn Korean and I thought that adding your lessons would help me out!!
Sincerely, Tracy from Texas
What I've learn in waiting to do thing is to change the "I want to" start waking up earlier to "I have to" start waking up earlier, because then it becomes something you HAVE TO DO.
