μ•ˆλ…•ν•˜μ„Έμš” μ„ μƒλ‹˜! Interesting today's lesson, it's a pity that it is once a week. I had guessed some things (my university studies of linguistics were useful for something) and then confirmed by watching videos or searching on the internet and books.

Anyway congratulations, 우리 μ„ μƒλ‹˜, for always being clear and making the explanations simple and easily understandable. πŸ‘¨β€πŸ« λ¬Έμ…˜ is the best teacher.

What about my hobbies? μ €λŠ” κΉ€ν•„ μ‚¬λž‘ν•΄μš” (I meant "I love κΉ€ν•„'s music"), μ €λŠ” λΆ€λ₯΄μš” πŸ‘©πŸΌβ€πŸŽ€. μ €λŠ” 맀일 10 km (?) κ±·μš”πŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈ. μ €λŠ” ν•œκ·Ήμ–΄ λ°°μ›Œμš” πŸ‘©πŸΌβ€πŸŽ“πŸ‡°πŸ‡·.

Could I ask you a question? How do you join two sentences with the conjunction AND?

I apologize if I was long and I thank you in advance. κ°μ‚¬ν•©λ‹ˆλ‹€ μ„ μƒλ‹˜!

Thank you very much for your kind words every time! Let me correct some of your sentences:

- μ €λŠ” λ…Έλž˜ λΆˆλŸ¬μš” or λ…Έλž˜ν•΄μš”

- μ €λŠ” 맀일 10ν‚¬λ‘œλ―Έν„° κ±Έμ–΄μš”

- μ €λŠ” ν•œκ΅μ–΄ λ°°μ›Œμš”

Good try dropping λ‹€ and adding μš” to conjugate the verbs! It works for some verbs but not for all of them and we will get there soon!

As for your question, the grammar form you need is "verb stem + 고"😊

I learned a little. It ist very good. But with my age of 68, I can only Take very little steps.

What I told in German Last time, was the fact, that I don't know the Hangul Alphabet and don't have possibility or knowledge how to use It with my Smartphone.

Doesn't matter...It's all very good. Thank you!

Ich mΓΆchte Ihnen sehr gerne helfen. I didn't understand if you were able to add the Korean alphabet to your mobile keyboard. If not, you could search on Google or another search engine "How to add another language to mobile phone keyboard". I can tell you that it is really very simple.

Hi Elyse! Great sentences! For your second sentence, you want to add an object just because the verb 읽닀 usually goes with one. So you can say μ € μ±… μ½μ–΄μš”, μ € μ‹ λ¬Έ μ½μ–΄μš”, etc.

"I like to sing" would be a little more complicated. μ € λ…Έλž˜ν•˜λŠ” κ±° μ’‹μ•„ν•΄μš”. We will get there eventually!😊

Hi Kelly! Great job! For the first one, you want to add an object just because the verb 읽닀 usually goes with one. So you can say μ € μ±… μ½μ–΄μš”, μ € μ‹ λ¬Έ μ½μ–΄μš”, etc.

In Korean, there is no such verb as "to bird". That's interesting and it sounds a little weird. I just went birding. I birded yesterday. You wanna go bird with me?πŸ˜‚

Hi Sohia!

λ°°μ›Œμš” is the conjugation of the verb λ°°μš°λ‹€! "μ € ν•œκ΅μ–΄ λ°°μ›Œμš”."

"To take photos" in Korean would be 사진(을) 찍닀.

Buster Moon's avatar

Instead of writing μ’‹μ•„μš”, you should write μ’‹μ•„ν•΄μš” because this is the verb "to like". μ’‹μ•„μš” is technically a descriptive verb that means "to be good" although it is often used as "to like"!

"I like to drive" in Korean would be μ € μš΄μ „ μ’‹μ•„ν•΄μš”πŸ˜Š

I am really enjoying learning korean this way. But I have a request that if could you just write how to pronounce the words as well. I know somewhere it is written but not everytime. This could really help when we don't know how to read korean much.

Expand full comment
Buster Moon's avatar

Hi Poorvi, the reason I wrote it sparingly is because I would like you to force yourself to get used to Hangul as fast as you can. If I continue putting Romanization, you will likely depend on that. It's a dilemma for me too haha Let me think about it a little more! Thank you for your suggestion!😊
